Honorable, hard working, loving, resilient; these are a few words that describe the good people that make up America. Our flags and their materials background also exemplify those words.  To The Core flags are handcrafted out of Dark Fired and Burley Tobacco sticks.  Each stick has its own features, resulting in each flag being a one of a kind work of art.  

Tobacco plants are carefully harvested by hand.  The plant is cut at the base of the stalk, it is then drove onto wooden sticks that will be hung in a barn until the plants are properly cured.  While Burley is air cured (which leaves the stick a natural wood color), Dark Fired is cured by a low smoldering fire (leaving a black sheen on the stick).  Each stick could be handled approximately 20 times per year, over the decades a stick could be touched by thousands of hard working hands.  We would like to be the last hands that work with these sticks, and we would like your hands to be the last to touch them as you proudly hang your flag for display.
